Master Program of Public Health Actively Contributes to PMDSU Success and Accelerated Graduate Education

The Master's Program of Public Health (Prodi S2 IKM) Faculty of Medicine Udayana University, through one of its staff members, Prof. Pande Putu Januraga, actively participated in the successful implementation of the PMDSU program by opening registrations for prospective students interested in enrolling in the year 2023. The PMDSU program is an acceleration program for obtaining Master's and Doctoral degrees within a predetermined period with scholarship funding from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Dikti). The Master's degree is accelerated to be completed in one year, while the Doctoral degree is completed in three years. This program aims to produce outstanding graduates in a shorter timeframe. To participate in this program, strict requirements and qualifications are needed for both supervisors (promotors), prospective students, and the supporting program.

During this period, the Master's Program of Public Health admitted one PMDSU student named Kadek Sudastri with the student ID number 2382111030 At the end of the first semester, Kadek Sudastri successfully completed the Master's thesis proposal defense with the title “Exploration of Stigma Literatures of HIV in Indonesia: Scoping Review”, where Prof. Pande Januraga served as the primary supervisor (pembimbing I), and Dr. Putu Wulandari served as the secondary supervisor (pembimbing II).

As part of the ongoing monitoring activities and to enhance the coverage of PMDSU activities in the future, the Master's Program of Public Health participated in a monitoring and evaluation meeting performed by The Postgraduate Program of Udayana University at 4 January 2024. During the event, the progress of students who had successfully reached the thesis proposal defense stage was reported. Additionally, matters related to coordination between the Master's Program of Public Health and the Postgraduate Program, as well as preparations for admissions in 2024, were discussed.

It is hoped that the Master Program of Public Health can increase student admissions through the PMDSU pathway as a contribution to accelerating the development of human resources in Indonesia.
